The European Commission’s DG Research is organising a Proposer’s Day exclusively devoted to the calls in the areas of ‘Science in society’ and ‘Socio-economic sciences and humanities’, which will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 22 January.
The aim of the event is to inform potential applicants about funding possibilities and assist them in submitting future applications.
The ‘Science in society’ call is organised along three main action lines: a more dynamic governance of the science and society relationship, including the participation of civil society organisations in research; strengthening potential and broadening horizons with respect to issues of gender and science education; and promoting effective communication channels that enable the public to engage with science and vice versa.
The ‘Socio-economic sciences and humanities’ call places emphasis on building a better understanding of the socio-economic, political and culture-related challenges facing Europe, for example in relation to economic growth, employment and competitiveness, social cohesion and sustainability, quality of life, interdependence between world regions, conflicts, human rights and citizenship.
